* At 252 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Polo to near Buckner to near Belton, moving
east at 35 mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Public. Several reports of wind damage have been received
from the KC metro with these storms.
IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to
mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

Kansas City, Independence, Lee's Summit, Blue Springs, Raytown,
Grandview, Belton, Raymore, Grain Valley, Excelsior Springs,
Pleasant Hill, Oak Grove, Richmond, Odessa, Greenwood, Lexington,
Peculiar, Sugar Creek, Buckner, and Lawson.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 70 in Missouri between mile markers 9 and 41.
Interstate 470 between mile markers 0 and 16.
Interstate 435 between mile markers 64 and 74.
Interstate 49 between mile markers 168 and 183.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 800 PM CDT for north central
and west central Missouri.
