The storms which prompted the warning have moved out of the warned
area. Therefore, the warning has been cancelled.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 800 PM CDT for east central
Kansas...and north central and west central Missouri.

...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 300 PM CDT
FOR NORTHEASTERN MIAMI...SOUTHEASTERN JOHNSON...NORTHWESTERN CASS...
SOUTHEASTERN CLINTON...CLAY...WESTERN RAY...SOUTHWESTERN CALDWELL...
WEST CENTRAL LAFAYETTE AND JACKSON COUNTIES...

At 249 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Trimble to near Independence to Belton, moving
northeast at 50 mph.

HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Public.

IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile
         homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

Locations impacted include...
Kansas City, Overland Park, Independence, Lee's Summit, Blue Springs,
Leawood, Raytown, Liberty, Grandview, Belton, Raymore, Grain Valley,
Excelsior Springs, Kearney, Pleasant Hill, Richmond, Spring Hill,
Greenwood, Peculiar, and Sugar Creek.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 70 in Missouri between mile markers 5 and 30.
 Interstate 35 in Missouri between mile markers 11 and 39.
 Interstate 470 between mile markers 0 and 16.
 Interstate 435 between mile markers 49 and 77.
 Interstate 49 between mile markers 167 and 183.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 800 PM CDT for east central
Kansas...and north central and west central Missouri.

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
